Blaine: "I was a graphic designer for 32 years in the Saratoga Springs, NY and Washington DC areas. During most of that time I was also working with wood, making all kinds of projects from small crafts, to furniture and custom bars and a number of large garden trellises that also use stained glass. In my quest to incorporate four great outdoor art media into our own garden decorations (wood, stone, glass... and metal), I finally started to teach myself how to weld and work with steel a few years ago. There is a fair amount of crossover conceptually in how to work with both wood and metal and I continue to love learning how to transform and bring all those various media together. The best thing about exploration is you never know exactly where it will take you..."

Rustic outdoor pieces with repurposed old tools, found steel and wood always felt like a natural companion to all our landscaping efforts. As avid gardeners, we always find that unique sculptures and structures help add a lot of character to all our beds.
