Singing Heron

Repurposed steel tools, ash wood, and glass cabochons
64" high, 12" deep, 11" wide base, 8" wide body

This heron is really stretched out to the sky giving it's all for a song. At over 5 feet tall this piece will fit in nicely with taller flower beds or as an accent around smaller shrubs.

The body is carved from a piece of ash wood from our property. The back and tail are half of an old post hole digger and the wings are shaped from a vintage transfer shovel.

The paint finishes are absolutely rated for outdoor use and should last for many years, but will likely survive even longer if stored indoors over the winter ... or simply let it age year-round and enjoy the slow weathering process that always adds even more character.
